Classic lotus
Created from a singular petal in the middle and three petals stemming out on each side, the lotus is a popular symbol seen in Kolam. Decorated with more dots and lines, it symbolizes prosperity, purity and enlightenment.
Welcome kolam
Done traditionally outside of the home in the front entrance, this kolam is used to welcome goddess Lakshmi into the home. Lakshmi represents wealth and prosperity and brings positivity into the house. Starting with a square, this kolam has petals, dots, lines and other geometric shapes to create a beautiful design.
